SERVICES
RELATED TO CUSTOM APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT AND ACQUISITION
We can perform
all sorts of services such as feasibility studies, preparation
of RFPs, analysis and design, code development, independent testing
of other contractor’s work, maintenance of existing systems,
redevelopment of existing systems, or development of new stand
alone or integrated systems. If it’s related to the
acquisition of standard or custom software, we can help.
CUSTOM
APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
Many of our projects
are complete custom application development tasks. A typical custom
application project consists of the following phases. |

|
Analysis
and design — we determine what your
system needs to do by meeting with you and documenting
your
needs. The result of this phase is a complete understanding
by both you and us of what the system must do. Deliverables
include either a Use Case document or Requirements document,
and a Data Model. |
Development
of the system — we build exactly what
everyone understands should be built, and we deliver
it on time and working correctly. Compare
the time needed for analysis versus development.
Maintenance
of the system as needed — once we deliver
the system and you start using it, it’s not uncommon
to start thinking of other things you can do with the
system. Over time, your business practices may change,
or if your system interfaces with other systems and provides
information to people and groups outside your organization,
their needs may change. It’s important that you
have a company willing to maintain your system, and that
your system was created with future ease of maintenance
in mind. At Reflexion we have clients with systems that
we have maintained in one form or another for more than
20 years.
One thing that helps us with the maintenance of systems is the Client
Business Center.
| The
Client Business Center is a website that we maintain for
you where you can check the status of any changes you’ve
asked us to make. It’s up to date and runs in real
time, so you always know what the status of your requests
are. In addition, all your documents that we create for
you are available from your Client Business Center as well.
Sure, we provide them to you electronically as we complete
them, but if you’re in a hurry, all you have to do
is log on to your Client Business Center and view the latest
version. Want to see an older document? Sure, we have those
online for you as well. What other development company
gives you the kind of online service you expect from Reflexion? |
|

Documentation
Unlike
many of our competitors, we provide complete documentation
to reduce your risk and to give you a complete job. In
addition to the analysis and design documents, we provide
a Programmer’s Manual that provides the information
that a maintenance programmer needs in order to make changes
to the system. Some companies withhold that information
to make it harder to switch software vendors, but at Reflexion
we believe you should have it. Why
do we provide documentation?

HOW
DO WE ENGAGE WITH CUSTOM SOFTWARE CLIENTS?
First, give
us a no obligation call (301.576.6447) to discuss your
proposed project. We can usually determine in a few minutes on
the phone whether your project is an appropriate match for our
experience and skills.
Next, we generally
schedule a one or two hour meeting at your office to discuss
the project in more detail. We can usually estimate the number
of hours that the analysis phase will take, as well as the development
phase, if your project is a typical custom application project,
and that will give you an idea whether it meets your budget or
not. We can also discuss a proposed schedule for your project
based on your needs. There is absolutely no charge for this initial
meeting. If you’re thinking about a project, you might
as well talk to us and get our free advice!
We have a
simple contract that discusses in detail our approach, or if
you prefer we can sign your contract if your organization has
one that you’re required to use. We try to make it as easy
as possible.
Once we begin,
we store all your documents online in a secure location called
our Client Business Center. You’ll be able to view your
documents, including revisions, and track the progress of your
project at any time. If you need additional features, you can
enter them into the Client Business Center, and track them as
they’re developed for you. |
